Commission Process

Thank you for your interest in a custom piece from Walsh Works Creations. Every commission is handcrafted with care, and the process is designed to make sure your artwork feels personal, thoughtful, and true to your vision.

Step 1: Submit an Inquiry

Start by filling out the commission form with as much detail as possible. Include your idea, preferred size, reference images, and whether your piece includes a business logo.

Step 2: Initial Review

Once I review your request, I will reach out to discuss your idea, estimated pricing, and timeline. This helps make sure your project is a good fit before moving forward.

Step 3: Design Deposit

Most custom commissions require a $100 design deposit before the design phase begins. This covers consultation, rough drafts, and revisions during the planning stage.

If you are requesting a woodburn of an existing business logo that is already finalized and provided in a clear, high-quality format, the design phase may not be needed and the deposit may be waived at my discretion.

Step 4: Waitlist or Active Queue

Depending on current availability, your project will either be added to my active commission schedule or placed on the waitlist. I will let you know where you stand and when I expect to begin your piece.

Step 5: Design Phase

When your turn comes up, we will finalize the details of your artwork. This may include discussing inspiration photos, layouts, fonts, size, and overall design direction. I may send rough drafts or sample layouts for approval.

Step 6: Final Quote & Contract

Once the design is approved, I will send your final quote and commission contract. The remaining balance must be paid before work begins on the final wood piece.

Step 7: Creation Process

Once payment is complete, I begin creating your artwork by hand. I may send progress updates and photos along the way so you can stay involved in the process.

Step 8: Packaging & Shipping

When your piece is finished, it will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking. Insurance and signature confirmation may be included depending on the piece.

Step 9: Delivery

After your artwork arrives, I always love hearing that it made it safely to its new home. Customer photos, reviews, and tags are always appreciated.
